parallelism and compound complex

PARALLELISM

In grammar, parallelism also known as parallel structure or parallel construction, is a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure. The application of parallelism improves writing style and readability, and is thought to make sentences easier to process.

Example:

·         Dina likes cooking, jogging, and reading.

·         She likes to cook, jog, and read.

·         He likes swimming and running.

Example in paragraph:

My mother is an active woman. In the morning she do jogging, cooking, and working. She back home at 01.00 p.m. after that she go shopping in the market. In the market, she buy some vegetables, fruits, and flavors. The vegetables are beans, broccoli, mustard, corns, carrots, mushrooms, and spinach. The fruits are apples, oranges, bananas, and pears. The flavors are chili, onions, garlic, ginger root, citronella grass, curcuma, and coriander.   In the afternoon she is sweeping the floor, watering the flower, and cleaning the kitchen. She likes watching television, reading book and writing diary. At 10.00 p.m. she goes to bed.

Compound complex Sentence

Compound complex sentence is sentence that made from two independent clauses and one or more dependent clause. Dependent clause is a clause that can stand alone. Independent clause is clause that cannot stand alone.

Ani is a beautiful girl. Although she beautiful, she like do a boy’s activity and she never has a girl friend. She likes football, karate, and drive boy’s motorcycle. Her mother always angry with Ani. Even though Ani takes personality lesson, she cannot change her attitude and cannot make her aware. Finally, her mother stop angry and she didn't know what sh should do.
